What is the Score Multiplier?

As the name implies, your score multiplier will multiply the number of rings you collect in a race. Your current multiplier can be seen at the top of the screen.

To increase your score multiplier, you'll need to complete Tasks, upgrade your characters, and complete buildings.

Note that this is different from the Rings Multiplier which can be bought in the shop.
